I would like to dedicate the setting up of this fitness challenge to Mary Millar. She was our running partner for many years until she was diagnosed with cancer. She had to give up running and most exercise then but managed to struggle with golf for a couple more years. She died in January 2008, we have lost a wonderful friend and running partner. I hope that this cahllenge will inspire other people as much as Mary inspired us to stay focussed and fit. Being fit has taught me that it can not prevent you from getting cancer but it certainly helps to alleviate symptoms, and speeds recovery when going through the treatment.
